Join Lisa Curt in Sarasota on November 11 from 10:30 – 4:00

Take your rope sewing skills in a new direction and move beyond baskets by creating a stylish, functional tote bag. You will explore oval construction, side wall shaping, and integrated handle techniques while creating a tote with plenty of opportunities for personalization.

Work with Mountain Thread Company natural or colorful rope, or prepare hand-dyed cotton rope in advance for a truly one-of-a-kind project. Basic rope dyeing guidelines are available from instructor Lisa Curt for students wishing to prepare hand-dyed rope before class.

This is an intermediate level workshop.

You Will Learn How To:
• Create and shape an oval rope base with structured side walls
• Construct a rope tote with integrated handles
• Customize a tote using color, stitching, and embellishments

Take Home Project: One rope tote, approximately 13” x 7” (not including handles). Final size and shape will vary based on individual shaping and technique.

Pre-Requisite: This is an intermediate level class is recommended for those with previous hands-on
rope sewing experience who are comfortable sewing and shaping larger baskets.

Requirements: Sewing machine capable of a zigzag stitch; presser foot suitable for zigzag stitching;
extension table for your machine. Additional materials listed on the supply list.
